FROM THE
PRINCIPAL'S DESK:

Dear MUNners,
I, on behalf of DAV Public School, welcome you all to the first edition of DAV Peace Summit. I believe that war is more to satisfy personal interests than for the common good. But peace is absolute. It is a promise of harmony . And in order to establish peace, we have to train the young minds first as the origin of peace is same as the origin of war.
Model United Nations is a great platform for students to discover and construct knowledge from existing resources and gain ideas about the current events. It gives them a chance to develop critical thinking, the art of diplomacy and the skills required to present their view-point. The basic concept of Model United Nations is to create realistic solutions to existing world problems. The students get a chance to put themselves in the shoes of a diplomat, blend in as a delegate or a journalist and get a hint of real world experience.
The inclusion of the Lok Sabha in this conference was done keeping in mind the fact that learning is both exclusive and inclusive. Only when India is at peace can the youth of India work towards spreading peace over the world. Thus the students will not only know about the working of nations at the international level but also gain knowledge about how the parliament functions in their own country. I hope that the values learnt will be paramount in preparing them for life.
It is the youth alone who can engineer the world today to make it habitable tomorrow. Therefore, it is quintessential that they know and understand the problems the world is facing and is likely to face in the future.
I once again wholeheartedly welcome all the future participants and hope that their ignited minds shall be successful in solving the issues at hand.
Regards,
Mrs. Ipsita Das
